Description

Meltemia Red is a blend of Mavrotragano and Vaftra, expressing the character of the Cycladic vineyard.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby color with violet hues.

On the nose, the intensity is medium to high, with red fruit aromas such as cherry and sour cherry, along with hints of blueberry. Subtle floral notes reminiscent of lavender are accompanied by elements of sweet spices, vanilla and a light peppery touch. More complex, earthy notes gradually emerge, including tobacco leaf and a gentle hint of dark chocolate.

On the palate, the tannins are present yet well-integrated, offering balance and structure. The acidity keeps the wine lively, while the fruit remains at the core, supported by subtle smoky and spicy notes.

The finish has good length, with a clean and balanced aftertaste.

It pairs well with red meats, more intensely flavored dishes and aged cheeses. Best served at 13–17°C.
